There’s something childlike about Treasure Hunt’s output and a sense of free spiritedness carries with it an inevitable case of innocence and naivety.

Such perceptions, especially in this case can often morph into something more disturbing; It’s like looking back on your favourite childhood TV shows with fondness before revisiting them as an adult and finding yourself somewhat perturbed by previously overlooked and capricious behaviour.

Treasure Hunt, real name Myles Byrne-Dunhill is active via various pseudonyms, labels (inc. Pedicure Records) and media’s. Myles’ art is always original and untethered and PG-13 is no exception. From sprawling sample-based wormholes to more malformed excerpts, PG-13 takes you on a mind-bending trip that leaves a mental picture of something mutant, yet absolutely familiar.

It’s a trip you might find disorientating but also one that you can’t help but repeatedly jump back in to, if not for the intrigue then for the sake of perversity and the enjoyment of a wholly gratuitous decision.

That may all sound a little equivocal, but then again it’s supposed to. PG-13 has a hazy, nebulous personality that’s bordering on insanity and it may already be too far gone to save!

The sort of music that is beyond time. The sort of music that you feel more than you hear. I love the fact that vaporwave/dreampunk projects like these have such extremely evocative aesthetics they directly fill your mind with sensations you didn't know you had. You'd maybe think it relies on that solely, but it's coupled with gorgeous musicianship + intense production ideas. The volume and spaces it creates just pull you in instantly whatever your initial mood was. Still stunning to this day. SUPRAQUENCER
