Leznoff’s most recent in a series of charismatic entries populating the rehabilitated cassette scene and bandcamp circles alike, is DS25 which will cajole and seduce in the most unashamed fashion.

The immediately familiar synth aesthetic, nurtured by artists as far back as electronic music will stretch is met with wandering zeal and exuberance, that takes satisfaction in knowing how well it evolves unobstructed without squandering control completely. The rhythmic approach, complimented by the lower synth tones on this DS release especially, has an impressive way of diverting the suggestion of a particular mood and creating the opposite; A sullen state of mind, yearning and waiting.

For the most part however, the free-flowing and intuitive approach to song-building, championed by Demonstration Synthesis over the past year is prominent. Synthesizers, many and of various types are handled with an obvious admiration for the feelings they serve best; States of ambience, exhilaration and wonderment.
